About Katalin Vidok

Founder & Principal Designer, VK Landscape Design

Katalin Vidok is a landscape designer with a background in visual arts and a philosophy rooted in the idea that form grows out of function, guided by the natural character of each site. She founded VK Landscape Design with the vision of creating timeless outdoor spaces that reflect her client’s lifestyle while honoring the unique qualities of each property.

Her work is rooted in a thoughtful balance of structure and softness — blending refined materials with natural plantings, and designing environments that evolve gracefully over time. With a strong foundation in design principles, plant knowledge, and a degree in visual arts, Katalin brings clarity and intention to every phase of a project.

What drew Katalin to landscape design was the quiet power of outdoor spaces — how a simple path, a shift in light, or the sound of water can ground us, calm us, and invite us to connect more deeply with the world around us. She believes in creating places where people can simply be — spaces to relax, gather, recharge, and feel at ease, without pressure or expectation. Her goal is to design environments that support everyday joy and authentic connection.

Based in New York, Katalin primarily works in New York City while also taking on select projects in the Catskills and surrounding areas. She collaborates closely with homeowners, architects, and contractors to bring each vision to life—designing landscapes that are layered, responsive, and built to last.

Katalin holds a certificate in Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Garden and is currently pursuing additional certification in Horticulture with a focus on Sustainable Garden Design. She welcomes collaborations with homeowners, architects, and builders who share her commitment to thoughtful, lasting landscapes that are both purposeful and deeply personal.
